If you’ve been toying around with online photo editors, you’ve probably chanced upon Picnik by now, which is the default online photo editor used by Flickr. Whether you’re a fan of Google or not, the reality is that the search engine giant has just snapped up the cloud-based photo editing site. In case you didn’t know, Picnik has already been integrated with third-party sites such as Flickr, Facebook and MySpace, but fortunately Google has said that it will continue to allow third-party sites to continue integrating with Picnik. Of course, this acquisition will certainly benefit Google’s own photo site, Picasa, in some way, and it’ll be interesting to see how Google plans to use the tech that it has just acquired.
