The French will be getting a new tablet-style notebook from Acer – the Acer Aspire 1420P. This 11.6″ model comes with a 1,366 x 768 resolution touchscreen display which can be turned around and folded down to resemble a slate computer. Nothing new about this form factor, but this is one of the initial few budget-friendly models to have popped up. It is slightly larger than your average netbook, but packs in a whole lot more punch in terms of processing power thanks to the dual core Intel Celeron SU2300 CULV processor and integrated GMA 4500MHD graphics. This isn’t going to hit the US just yet, but it sells for 499 Euros in that part of the world. Other specifications include a 250GB hard drive, 3GB RAM, HDMI and VGA outputs, Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, and an SD memory card slot, all running on Windows 7 Home Premium.
