Netgear Push2TV for wireless connectivity

Going wireless has long been a mantra for those who want to live out the digitally connected life, and Netgear aims to push consumers towards that position with their Push2TV device, also known by its model number PTV1000. As long as you own a compatible laptop with Intel Wireless Display, the Push2TV is able to take advantage of your HDTV by turning it into a large remote monitor sans wires. Being a wee bit larger than a deck of cards, setting up the Push2TV is a snap – all you need to do is “point and click”. The Push2TV must be connected to the TV via HDMI, with Intel Wireless Display preloaded on your laptop that will capture fully rendered display frames in real-time, sending the compressed video and audio straight to Push2TV via Intel My WiFi technology. Using the protected short-hop high-bandwidth wireless connection between the laptop and Push2TV, one is able to save bandwidth overhead by up to 50%! Netgear hsa priced their PushTV at $100 Stateside – no idea on whether it will roll out anywhere else or not.
