Ebook readers are the big thing this year apart from HD 3DTVs, and Jinke does not want to get left behind on the bandwagon with their A6 and A9 ebook readers which rely on AUO’s SiPix panels. They’re both vaporware at the moment since there is nothing physical about the idea yet, but assuming all goes well and they hit the market in a physical form factor, the A6 and A9 will feature multitouch capability, the all important built-in Wi-Fi capability and optional 3G just in case you have an itch to download your favorite tome while you’re commuting. Theoretically, the Jinke A6 will come with a 6″ 600 x 800 display with 16 levels of grayscale, 2GB of internal memory, an SD memory card slot and a built-in accelerometer. As for the Jinke A9, you get a more generous 9″ 1,024 x 768 panel with multitouch and 16 level grayscale, 4GB internal memory and similar features with the A6. There might be a QWERTY-keyboard variant of the A9 though, but nothing’s confirmed yet.
