HP Ships One Of The Earliest USB 3.0 Laptops
The world is certainly moving in the direction of USB 3.0, and now HP is claiming to be one of the first to ship a computer with native USB 3.0 ports. Said computers are certain variations of the Envy 15 quad-core notebook, which will then support much faster data transfers of up to 5Gbps. With a native USB 3.0, it can make much better use of the USB 3.0 connection offered by some LaCie and Buffalo drives. It seems that USB 3.0 adoption might be a little slower than expected, as Intel currently doesn’t have a USB 3.0 native chipset just yet, so most companies have to rely on custom controllers from NEC and other vendors.
