Despite being flooded with a deluge of CES news, there are other happenings around the world of technology too, you know. Case in point, Acer has issued a recall for approximately 22,000 notebooks due to the risk of overheating and burns. While there were no injuries reported so far, why take your chances? According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, a short circuit in an internal microphone wire under the palm rest has damaged three machines to date. If you happen to own an Acer Aspire notebook under the following models – AS3410, AS3410T, AS3810T, AS3810TG, AS3810TZ and AS3810TZG, you would best contact Acer for a free repair. Bear in mind this affects only Acer Aspire models mentioned which were sold between June and October of last year, so get that sales receipt out of your drawer already.
