If you’re all for the environment, then you’ll certainly want to take note of the newly-announced Sony Ericsson Elm, which is a candybar phone, and the latest addition to Sony Ericsson’s GreenHeart initiative. Said initiative’s mission is to help the company reduce its CO2 emissions by 20 percent by the year 2015. The fact that the phone will be made out of recycled plastic, uses a low-power charger and comes in minimized packaging will certainly help. There isn’t been any official mention of pricing just yet. In terms of specs, though we do know that the Elm will be available in Q1 of 2010. The phone will sport:
- 5-megapixel camera
- Noise-reduction technology
- Easy access to social networks
- aGPS technology that works with Google Maps
- Wisepilot (built-in turn-by-turn navigation)
