Augmented reality applications like Layar are certainly popular on Apple’s iPhone, and now it seems like Samsung’s Omnia II might be able to get in on the fun too. The folks at HyongaSoft have come up with OMPASS World Cities, which is a fancy name for their augmented reality application for said phone. It’ll make use of the Omnia II’s compass, GPS and camera to offer you directions of different cities, along with information regarding the respective countries and distances. The Pro version will give you the added bonus of a “city life” feature, displaying theater, shopping, road, subway and other local information. It’s still under beta, but word is that more information on it well be released next month. Check out a video of it in action here.
