It’s hard to ever get bored of stuff from LaCie. Sure the designs might not be the funkiest in town, but they’re simple and elegant, certainly something that a lot of folks appreciate. Following that trend is the latest portable DVD burner released by the company, which was designed by Sam Hecht. The device is USB-powered, eliminating the need for the bulky AC adapter. In terms of burn speeds, it supports DVD burn speeds up to 8x and CD burn speeds up to 24x, which isn’t too shabby. The windows version will set you back $90, while the Mac version has a little premium (as always) and will be going for $120. For your hard-earned cash, you’ll get the DVD burner, Toast 9 Basic (for Mac) or Creator Suite 10 with Lightscribe for Windows.
