JVC’s latest two TH-BA1 and TH-SB100 soundbars are pretty much the same unit, although the latter goes one up by having a JVC Blu-ray player as its escort for a more complete home theater entertainment experience. These two will feature a couple of 4.1-channel soundbars with a wireless subwoofer, capable of pounding out 220 watts of total system power. They can handle Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS decoding with aplomb, and rely on the 2.4GHz digital wireless band to keep the the subwoofer in the loop with the soundbar. As mentioned, the JVC TH-SB100’s Blu-ray player has yet to be identified, but it does handle AVCHD, JPEG, MP3, WMA, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS and DTS HD formats, accompanied by the other usual suspects including BD Live compatibility, HDMI 1.3, USB Host, Ethernet port, component and composite video outputs, and analog, optical and coaxial audio outputs. Expect to see the JVC TH-BA1 and TH-SB100 out later this month for $399.99 and $699.99, respectively.
