InFocus’s latest SP8602 ScreenPlay projector will target home theater installations as it offers native 1080p resolution to satisfy those who have a penchant for high definition movies. It will rely on Texas Instruments’ DLP DarkChip technology with BrilliantColor, Pixelworks’ DNX 10-bit video processor, and InFocus’ proprietary 120Hz motion engine to get the job done. Features include a 30,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,300 lumens of brightness. Automatic orientation detection is also thrown in for better image management, and you can also outfit the SP8602 with a variety of skins to match a home theater setup’s color. Connectivity options comprise of two HDMI 1.3 ports, three components, one S-video, one composite and one 4-pin mini-DIN. While there is no word on pricing, the InFocus ScreenPlay 8602 ought to be out sometime later this October.
