What makes the Sole Power Tile system different from the rest is this – it is the first building-integrated photovoltaic roofing product that was specially designed to blend in with curved roof tiles which are more or less the common denominator in the Pacific West and Southwest of the United States where roof tiles are concerned. Individual tiles measure 37.4″ wide and 18″ long, leaving 15″ of the tile exposed to sunlight in order to soak up all the heaty goodness. It ain’t half bad in terms of performance either, where a 30-tile per 100 sq ft installation is able to generate around 860 Kw/h per annum, assuming one gets 5.8 peak sun hours per day – definitely much more for those living along the equator. Would be interesting if most homes adopt such a method in order to keep the earth green.
