Vivitek is working hard to roll out their H1080FD projector in August, and best of all is, this projector will be available at a sub-$1,000 price point – a dollar short, to be exact. This full HD projector will come with a brightness of 1800 ANSI lumens and a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, specially designed for home theaters with a couple of HDMI inputs, accompanied by a composite, S-Video and a component video. Vivitek also saw it fit to include a 12V trigger port for motorized screens or lifts just in case. Guess this means the psychological $1,000 price barrier for full HD projectors have been successfully broken, and we hope to see similar efforts from other manufacturers in the near future.
