Green Screen Turns Off Automatically

Some smart aleck from Britain has managed to develop a new software which is able to detect whether you are taking a look at the computer screen, turning it off if your attention is being directed elsewhere. According to Peter Hopton of Sheffield University, UK, he says that this idea could potentially save a huge amount in terms of energy bills as it will go some ways in reducing people’s carbon footprint. Already available in the market, this software relies on open source face detection software that is linked to a webcam, reacting accordingly. We wonder whether there is a version that detects whether you are staring too intently at the screen – flashing a warning that the boss is behind you, especially in cases where people visit NSFW sites while at the office.
