Supermarkets are doing their level best to go green, and most of them have already adopted a no plastic bag stance. Well, a supermarket in England goes further with plans to sett up a high-tech parking lot which will harness energy of cars driving on it, where this form of electricity will then be used to power the cash registers as well as lights within the store. How does it work? Well, it relies on a series of plates that will create a rocking motion underground whenever driven over, in turn churning those generators. The more vehicles that go over it, the more energy is generated – amounting up to 30kw each hour.
