[CES 2009] Sony Ericsson announced their C510 Cyber-shot phone at the press conference yesterday, and here are the nitty gritty on things. The C510 Cyber-shot is the first handset from Sony Ericsson to feature Smile Shutter technology, and it certainly won’t be the last since this technology will be retrofitted to its C905 Cyber-shot that was rolled out last November. The C510 is touted to be the most affordable Cyber-shot handset from Sony to date, which is a good thing considering the rather bleak economic climate currently. It will feature all your favorite Cyber-shot modes and functions without costing an arm and a leg, with the following specifications below for your perusal :-
- 2.2″ TFT scratch-resistant 240 x 320 display at 262k colors
- 100MB internal memory
- M2 memory card slot
- 3.2 megapixel Cyber-shot camera with autofocus
- Smile Shutter technology
- Face detection
- Auto-rotation
- Snapfish by HP pre-installed
- YouTube-enabled
- Photo Fix
- SMS-conversation threads for easier reference
- Slide-in lens cover and illuminated imaging shortcuts
It will be out in selected markets from Q1 onwards, and will come in three variants – C510: GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSPA 2100, C510a: GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100 and C510c: GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 900/1800/1900.
