Released just in time for the holiday season, the Amazon iPhone application lets you “keep track” of stuff want to buy, and shop on the go. The implementation is a bit surprising: users are asked to send a photo of objects that they might want to buy. The images are sent to Amazon’s data center for recognition and processing. The system then gets back to you (in minutes or hours) with stuff that are similar to the photo you sent. That’s not really how I would like to shop, but that might just be me. What do you think?
