This is probably the most interesting laptop from HP/Voodoo at this event: the Voodoo Envy 133 is a nicely designed laptop (only 0.7″, custom paint) that has an interesting solution to use traditionally wired devices. The (external) optical drive, (wired) Ethernet and the HDMI-VGA adapter are based on ID-coordinated wireless.
Other than that, it packs a fast CPU, an SDD drive (I suspect that a normal HDD can also be installed), weighs about 3.4lbs (more than it looks) and has an instant-on OS (probably linux-based) that can boot in a snap to let you access the web and other basic applications. I like it already.
Highlights:
- 133 stands for 13.3″ display
- 0.7″ thick
- Carbon Fiber casing
- WiFi N (100+ Mbps)
- Starts at $2099
