[CES 2008] Lenovo (ex-IBM) is usually synonymous with very good quality business laptops with a boring (but efficient) design. Lenovo wants to change that and the “Idea” brand is how the company intends to enter the consumer market (which is where the money is). Here’s the line-up.
The Y510 seems like the laptop for the average user. It’s good for emails, web browsing and other non-intensive tasks, but could not be a gaming machine, because of the low-end integrated graphics from Intel.
The Y710 is beefier, first of all because it has a 17” display, but also because it has a faster CPU (2.5Ghz), more storage (2 HDD bays) and has an entry-level GPU that is capable of mild gaming. More specs in the full post.
