3M Unitek Corp. have developed a new Clarity Self-Ligating braces that is constructed from a translucent ceramic material that makes the wearer look ordinary without frightening away little kids whenever he/she breaks into a smile. This new pair of smart braces do not require elastic bands (also known as ligatures) that attached the wire to the brackets. Instead, its self-ligating feature is capable of regulating force without mechanisms to slide or clog, leaving the patient will less discomfort while providing a far more efficient treatment.
