Pentax has a couple of new digital compact cameras available for us – the Optio Z10 and Optio S10. The former comes with a high magnification 7x optical zoom lens, while the latter captures your favorite memories in 10 megapixel glory. The Optio Z10’s optical zoom lens currently holds the record as having the highest magnification among current Pentax compact digital camera models, and other features include an 8 megapixel sensor, Face Recognition, digital shake reduction, and a sliding lens cover. As for the S10, it also comes with digital shake reduction, Face Recognition, and DivX certification for high quality video recording. Both cameras will retail for $249.95 each and will ship starting from next month. Sounds pretty ho hum to me – you can’t really tell one camera from another in terms of performance at this price point these days.
