Optoma makes HD affordable

Full HD is something most of the working class still dream of, but time and technology have driven the costs to a more affordable range. Optoma proved this by unveiling the HD80 projector that does 1080p at the relatively affordable price of $2,999. Features of the HD80 stand at 1,300 lumens with a 10,000 to 1 contrast ratio, a couple of 1.3 HDMI ports, DVI with HDCP, component, and composite connections. Sounds like a pretty good deal, especially when you want to hook up your PS3 or Xbox 360 to it for all and sundry to enjoy. Those with deeper pockets can always pick up the HD81-LV which boasts 2,500 lumens, a trio of HDMI ports, and the DarkChip3 that keeps the picture crisp and bright even in a lighted room. The HD81 comes at an inflated price tag of $7,999 though.
