If you’re looking out for a cheap computer, they don’t come any cheaper than the Zonbu. Due this summer, the Zonbu measures roughly the size of a paperback book comes with 4GB of flash memory on board, and the ability to back up your data online automatically. The $99 price tag is not all there is to it to the Zonbu though, as you will need to fork out $12.95 monthly to store its data on Zonbu servers, letting you compute from virtually anywhere in the world with a decent Internet connection. If you just want to bring home this PC as a standalone, the Zonbu will sear a $250 hole in your pocket. Take note that all the other peripherals are not included, so do set aside extra budget for that. The Zonbu comes with pre-loaded applications like Firefox, OpenOffice, a video player, Skype, email and IM software. I think I’d much rather fork out $500 and get an entry level PC complete with peripherals instead – the open source software, I can download myself.
