While all laptops these days come with an ExpressCard slot, devices meant for that slot are still far and few between compared to the PCMCIA platform. Greenhouse Japan has recently unveiled the GH-EX25AD ExpressCard 34 Memory Card Reader that is compatible with SD, SDHC, MMC, xD, and all variants of Memory Stick cards. Not only does the transfer speed max out at 480Mbps (10 times that of PCMCIA), the best part would be the SDHC card compatibility which is relatively rare these days even for new laptops. The GH-EX25AD retails for approximately $24 after conversion, which is a pretty good deal.
