Sharp of Japan has recently developed the GH04P21A2G blue-violet laser that is capable of burning doubled sided discs of the Blu-ray and HD DVD variety at 6X speed. Mass production of these new diodes will begin this May, featuring an output of 210 mW, making it the world’s highest in the process.
