The ZiPhone II looks set to be relegated to the category of “Yet another Skype phone” at first glance, but those who jumped the gun will be proved wrong. The ZiPhone II is actually “yet another VoIP, Skype, and PSTN phone” once it is hooked up to your computer and normal landline. Calls are answered based on caller ID info, while those who are very specific with words will find the call recording feature extremely useful. Other functions include voice messaging and call logging. Only those who make plenty of calls over Skype as well as landlines will need to consider devices like the ZiPhone II, while the rest of the world will do just fine with a basic Skype headset. The ZiPhone II retails for $199.95.
