Sony ushers in the new year with a bevy of beauties that are the DSC-W55, DSC-W35, DSC-S700 and DSC-S650 digital cameras in the Cybershot line. All the cameras listed come with high sensitivity to capture pixel perfect images even in low light conditions. In addition, the W-series of cameras feature Sony’s very own Clear RAW noise reduction technology and AF Illuminator to reduce the amount of picture noise which is frequently found in low-light exposures. You also get anywhere between 380 to 460 shots per camera before requiring a recharge. For more details on each individual camera, read on after the jump.
The DSC-W55 and DSC-W35 both share the same 7.2 megapixel image sensor and Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lenses. In addition to the large 2.5″ LCD screen, Sony has thoughtfully included traditional viewfinders to save on battery power when it matters.
The DSC-S700 and DSC-S650 are also 7.2 megapixel models, but the LCD display is much smaller with the former featuring a 2.4″ LCD while the latter comes with just a 2″ display.
Most of these models are available in classic silver, while all four share 3x optical zoom and some internal memory to capture important shots even when you’ve run out of previous memory. These cameras accept Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick PRO Duo flash media cards as the storage medium of choice. You can look out for the W55, W35, and the S650 this February for approximately $200, $180, and $150 respectively. The S700 will ship a month after that for $180. You can pre-order these cameras today or pick them up online.
