CES 2007 – In the race for top honors when it comes to LCD TVs, most manufacturers compete against each other in terms of size first, followed by other features. This has resulted in LG unveiling a monster 100″ LCD TV which is claimed to be the largest of its kind in the world. Of course, this falls short of the plasma TV by Panasonic by 3″, but at that size, can you really tell? There is no model number attached to this TV yet, and it seems that there were more LG engineers hanging around the LG booth than PR people. Anyhows, this behemoth sports a brightness level of 700cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 3,000 to 1. Needless to say, you get full HD support at 1920 x 1080p. A closer look at the TV reveals an extremely fine, black going down the middle – did they paste two 50″ displays together, or is it just a manufacturing defect? No idea on when it will be up for commercial availability nor its price, but at least you create a whole new partition in your house with this LCD TV.
