Jasco Remote flips more than channels

CES 2007 – We all know how large universal remotes have become these days, as they can virtually control nearly every device in your home and as I suspect, even nuclear warheads located in secret bunkers around the country. Jasco has taken a step back by offering the Flip Universal Remote that controls just four devices – the almighty TV, the DVD player, your satellite/cable, and the archaic VCR. These are among the most commonly found consumer electronics in your home that require a remote control, although throwing in compatibility with a home theater system and Media Center PC would have been nice. The Flip Universal Remote is a clamshell device as you can deduce by its name and was released just this year. It is pretty affordable too, retailing for $16.99 each. The svelte design earned it the Design & Engineering Showcase Award in the process.
