In this day and age of social media, everyone is trying to one up each other by showing off their latest purchase, the food they eat, the places that they’ve been to, encouraging the upload of selfies (which also seems to be fueling the plastic surgery industry). However it seems that over in Rome, tourists trying to get the best selfie spot ended up getting into a fight.
According to the reports, a Dutch teenager and an Italian woman were caught on camera fighting with each other by pulling each other’s hair. This was allegedly due to both of them coveting a spot in front of the Trevi Fountain, a popular spot for tourists to take photos at. After each of them got into a fight with each their, their families then tried to intervene in which police say that it ultimately ended up with about eight people getting into a fight, forcing officers to call in reinforcements.

It is unclear if they were charged for their brawl, but thankfully no one was hurt and everyone parted ways with some bruises. This is not the first time we’re seeing people do drastic things for the so-called “perfect” selfie. In this case it was a little fight, but in other instances we’ve seen people actually die because they weren’t paying attention to their surroundings, or in another case, accidentally shot themselves while trying to grab a selfie.
