Nikon will officially announce their mirrorless camera on the 23rd of August. The company has been slowly teasing its reveal, but now we might have a good idea of what it could look like thanks to photos obtained by the folks at Nikon Rumors which shows what the camera could look like in real life.
These photos appear to be a behind-the-scenes shoot for what could potentially be an ad or launch trailer for the upcoming device. While it’s hard to make out the camera held in the model’s hands, it’s safe to say that this does not look like any Nikon camera we’ve seen before, and its silhouette appears to match up with the teasers that we’ve been seeing all this while, along with an official image that was shared by Nikon a few weeks ago.
Assuming this is correct, this also means that this would be the first the Nikon mirrorless has been caught in the wild. Details about the camera are still a bit scarce, but there have been talks about it possibly using a full-frame sensor. It is also rumored to sport a new Z-mount, which is what Nikon seems to be hinting at in one of its teaser videos.
Either way we should know for real in the next couple of weeks, so if you’ve been a long-time Nikon fan, hopefully this camera will do justice to the company’s decades of experience of putting out amazing devices.
