When it comes to trying to predict what Apple does, there are some analysts who get it wrong almost every time, but then there are some that get it right with such consistency that it’s almost eerie. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is in the latter category where in the past he has made many an accurate prediction, thanks to his well-placed sources deep within the supply chain.
Unfortunately it seems that Kuo may no longer be reporting on Apple-related activity. This is according to a tweet by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman who links to an article by China Times in which it reveals that Kuo has since left his job at KGI Securities. It is unclear where Kuo has landed at but the report claims that he will be moving on and covering other companies instead.
Congratulations to Ming Chi-Kuo (the best analyst covering Apple) who is leaving KGI for another firm, and reportedly moving on to cover innovative non-Apple companies. https://t.co/m55yUVQSGG

There could be a myriad of reasons why Kuo left KGI and is focusing on other companies besides Apple, but 9to5Mac suggests that Apple’s recent efforts to stem leaks could have resulted in him losing his sources, which is why he has decided to move to other industries and companies.
Either way Kuo’s departure will definitely mark a decrease in semi-accurate Apple-related predictions and hints of the company’s plan for the future.
