You would think that training AI will require users to have some kind of coding/programming knowledge, and for the most part that would be true. However in a bid to make AI more accessible to the masses, Google has launched a tool called AutoML that lets users train AI without necessarily knowing how to code.
According to Google, this will be as simple as dragging and dropping images. “Our first Cloud AutoML release will be Cloud AutoML Vision, a service that makes it faster and easier to create custom ML models for image recognition. Its drag-and-drop interface lets you easily upload images, train and manage models, and then deploy those trained models directly on Google Cloud.”
Now obviously some might be wondering why would you want to use Google’s AutoML tool? For starters like we said, it does make it easier for companies who do not have access to resources to train AI, and would like to be able to do so. However Google is also boasting that in addition to its ease of use, it also features increased accuracy which will provide more accurate models, along with a faster turnaround time to production-ready models.
Google’s blog post also cites how companies such as Urban Outfitters and Disney have expressed interest in the technology, with Disney already taking advantage of it to help enhance their search engine.
