Many companies are trying to make their own smart home products and their own ecosystem which can be rather confusing and overwhelming as customers try to figure out what works with what. This is where companies such as Apple have stepped in with the HomeKit system which tries to unify your various smart appliances and gadgets in your home.
The good news for those who own Belkin products is that it looks like the WeMo Bridge will finally be available for purchase later this month. For those unfamiliar, Belkin had previously stated that they would not be supporting HomeKit due to certain compatibility issues, but later they changed their mind.
The company then announced the WeMo Bridge with HomeKit support back in May 2017 but did not make any mention of pricing or availability, at least until now where like we said earlier, it will be launching later this month via Amazon, Apple, and Belkin’s websites where it will be sold for $40.
With the launch of the WeMo Bridge, iOS users can now control their WeMo smart products using Siri or the Home app on their iOS or Apple Watch devices. It did take a while for it to arrive on the market, but we suppose better late than never.
