If you’re someone who hates being tied down to carrier contracts and would love to be able to be free to pick and choose whichever carrier you want, then unlocked and SIM-free smartphones are probably right up your alley. The good news is that if you’ve been waiting for the iPhone X to be unlocked and SIM-free, that time is now.

Apple’s Online Store in the US has started to sell the unlocked and SIM-free variant of the iPhone X. This means that the phone will not come with any line and that customers will have to set that up themselves, although the upside is that customers will get the luxury of choosing whichever service they want, assuming that it is compatible with the iPhone X.

The base 64GB model is priced at $999 while the 256GB model will retail for $1,149. Apple’s website is also stating that the estimated shipping time for either model is 5 days, which is in line with our earlier report in which shipping estimates for the iPhone X have dramatically improved since its launch.

It is unclear if this is due to Apple ramping up production considerably, or if maybe demand is less than what Apple had anticipated, but either way if you wanted an unlocked and SIM-free iPhone X in time for the holidays, now’s the chance to get your hands on one.
