Prior to this, users who wanted to learn how to modify their guns and add bump stocks were able to freely search and watch such videos. However like we said, following the shootings in Las Vegas, YouTube has decided to revisit their policy and are now banning such videos and removing existing content.
In a comment by a YouTube spokesperson, “We have long had a policy against harmful and dangerous content. In the wake of the recent tragedy in Las Vegas, we have taken a closer look at videos that demonstrate how to convert firearms to make them fire more quickly and we’ve expanded our existing policy to prohibit these videos.”
There might be some backlash to YouTube’s changes, whether it be by gun-supporters, or those who believe that YouTube is trying to censor the internet, but regardless it seems that this is the new policy so we guess you guys will just have to get used to it.
