Apple’s iPhone 8 is set for a reveal on the 12th of September, and given the leaks we’ve seen so far, it’s safe to assume that unless Apple has been trolling us all this while, we more or less know what to expect. However for those keeping up with the leaks, a new leaked component has surfaced, although it’s not exactly the most exciting.
In an image posted on to Slashleaks (via Cult of Mac), the photo shows what appears to be the leaked speaker component belonging to the upcoming iPhone 8. It has been pointed out that the component looks similar to earlier iPhone components, but the main speaker module itself is different. It is possible that Apple might have improved on the design and made it louder/clearer/better quality in general, but it remains to be seen.
Like we said it’s not the most exciting iPhone component leak we’ve seen to date. Given that the iPhone 8 (or iPhone X as some are calling it) is said to represent a radical redesign and will see the removal of the home button, sport a bezel-less display, and will feature wireless charging, we’re sure that speaker quality is probably far down the list of what users are expecting.
This isn’t to say that speaker quality isn’t important, it’s just that for the most part Apple has done a decent job with its speakers, so in the grand scheme of things maybe it isn’t quite as exciting, but either way we’ll have more details come next Tuesday.
