It is safe to say that out of all the platforms that Facebook launched the Stories feature on, only Instagram seems to be having the most success with it, with Facebook and WhatsApp being pretty much ghost towns as far as Stories are concerned. We guess this shouldn’t be surprising given that the different apps are used for different reasons.
However it seems that Facebook is still trying to make Stories on its platform happen. In a recent tweet by The Next Web’s Matt Navarra, it looks like Instagram is testing out a new feature where users can upload Stories onto Instagram and be given the option to upload to Facebook simultaneously as well.

At the moment uploading to Facebook requires a separate action, so presumably by allowing users to post to Instagram and Facebook at the same time, the efficiency could help make Stories on Facebook more popular. Apparently this feature is being tested out in Portugal at the moment and it is unclear when it could go live for everyone else, if at all.
In a statement made by an Instagram spokesperson, “We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you. We have no other plans to share at this time.” But what do you guys think? If you could post simultaneously would it encourage you to share your Stories on Facebook as well?
