Xiaomi has quickly become one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world. The company has been able to achieve this feat by aggressively pricing devices to entice customers to opt for its products. It’s a strategy that has worked very well for the company so far. That’s not to say that its devices don’t offer good specifications. They do and it appears that its upcoming handsets will feature even better displays because according to a new report, Xiaomi will start sourcing OLED displays from Samsung.
As many of you might be aware, Samsung is the largest supplier of mobile OLED displays on the market right now. Not only that, its mobile OLED panels are highly regarded by the mobile industry.
According to the report, Xiaomi’s 2018 flagship smartphone is going to have an OLED display sourced from Samsung. Xiaomi has reportedly placed orders for a 6.01 inch OLED display panel and the first shipment is said to take place in December this year.
Xiaomi was actually expected to source this display panel from LG but since the latter’s new plant operation has not taken off in a timely fashion, Xiaomi has gone elsewhere and at this point in time, there’s no better manufacturer of OLED displays than Samsung.
