The LG V30 is LG’s upcoming flagship smartphone, or at least its second flagship smartphone of the year. The handset is rumored to pack the latest hardware under its hood, and thanks to a recent benchmark sighting, it seems that some of the rumors have been confirmed, such as the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4GB of RAM.
Given that the LG G6 was launched with the Snapdragon 821 instead of the 835, we guess it makes sense that LG would be equipping the LG V30 with the 835. RAM-wise it seems that LG won’t be going beyond 4GB, which honestly would have been a bit of an overkill. Interestingly enough it also appears that the LG V30 is running Android 7.1.2 Nougat on the benchmarks.
We would have liked to see it run Android 8.0 “O”, but given that Google has yet to confirm the release of Android O, we guess we can’t really fault LG for this, but hopefully when Android O is released, LG won’t make customers wait too long before the update is issued. Other than that the benchmarks don’t really reveal anything else.
There are rumors suggesting that the LG V30 could be ditching the secondary ticker display which was one of its key features, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Recent alleged renders also seems to confirm dual rear-facing cameras, but in any case we should have the official details on the 31st of August, so check back with us then for more updates.
