For some reason when it comes to high-end flagship phones, a lot of the focus is placed on performance and design, and not so much battery. Instead phones that typically pack huge batteries are of the low-mid range quality, and it seems that will not change anytime soon as Xiaomi has announced plans for an upcoming handset in the form of the Mi Max 2.
The company has recently put up a teaser website in which it was revealed that the handset will be announced on the 25th of May. According to the teasers, the phone will sport a display that is bigger than 6-inches, and it will feature a 5,000mAh battery which should definitely be able to last you at least an entire day and then some.
As for the other specs, we only have the rumors to go on which includes a Snapdragon 626 chipset with 4GB of RAM, or another variant that comes with a Snapdragon 660 with 6GB of RAM. It is also rumored to feature a 12MP camera with a Sony IMX378 sensor and a 5MP front-facing camera.
As for pricing, the 4GB variant is said to cost roughly $218, while the 6GB version could go for $247. In terms of availability, Xiaomi has yet to officially expand to the US so don’t expect the phone stateside anytime soon, unless you don’t mind buying grey market imports.
