If you are on Sprint and you think your network coverage is less than ideal, there’s finally something you can do about it. The carrier has recently announced a device that they are calling the “Magic Box” which will basically have the ability to boost your cell and data coverage, so if you are having issues with your connection, this is one way to fix it.
The best part is that it seems that Sprint will be giving away the Magic Box for free since there was no mention of pricing. However it makes sense because instead of upgrading its network and adding more cell towers, it would probably be cheaper to give these out to customers instead. There is a chance that not everyone will need it either, and with it being able to cover areas of 30,000 square feet and boosting speeds by as much as 200%, like we said one box should be good enough to cover several homes or offices.
The Magic Box will be initially made available to those in Denver, San Francisco, Indianapolis, New York, Chicago, and Houston before presumably expanding to more markets in the US. Of course this doesn’t mean that Sprint has no plans to improve on its network, but until then we guess the Magic Box will get the job done.
As CNBC points out, Sprint isn’t the first to offer up such as solution. Other carriers have also come up with similar initiatives of their own. However if you are a Sprint customer and would like to get your hands on one, then head on over to Sprint’s website for the details on how to pre-order one.
