Swarovski hasn’t really come out with its own smartwatch as yet even though it has teamed up with Samsung to bling out some of its wearable devices. However, the company did say some time back that it was working on its own smartwatch powered by Android Wear. However, according to a new report, it appears that the Swarovski Android Wear smartwatch has been delayed indefinitely.

Many would have expected the company to show off the smartwatch at Baselworld 2017 later this week. Swarovski has confirmed that it has delayed the launch of its “smart device initiative.”

The company first said that it was working on such a device back at the CES 2017 in January this year. It mentioned that this Android Wear device would be geared towards women.

In a statement provided to Wareable, a member of the Swarovski Executive Board Robert Buchbauer said: “Swarovski has decided to postpone its smart device initiative and will not present new smart device products at Baselworld 2017. Swarovski is simply not ready yet. We cannot yet make any statement regarding the timing of the launch.”

Back when the company made the announcement at CES 2017 this year it mentioned that the device would pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon process. No further details were revealed and it looks like we’ll have to wait for a long time to find out more about Swarovski’s Android Wear smartwatch.
