Over the past few years, we’ve seen smartphone manufacturers push the envelope on design by opting to develop smartphones with minimal bezels. One such example is the Mi Mix from Xiaomi. If the leaks are to be believed, the upcoming Galaxy S8 is going to be a fine example of this as well. Being one of the fastest growing smartphone companies on the planet, how can Huawei stay out of this? The company has revealed that it’s working on a nearly bezel-less smartphone.
This was confirmed by Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong who was speaking to the media after the launch of the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus in China. He confirmed that the company is developing a smartphone that’s going to have a display that takes up the entire front from the top to the bottom.
If this is true we can expect the handset to have very minimal bezels or perhaps no bezels at all. Whatever it turns out to be, one can imagine that it’s going to look pretty good.
Chengdong didn’t really go into any more details about this device so it’s unclear right now whether this is going to be a flagship product and when it’s going to be launched. Such design feats are normally introduced with flagship handsets, though.
