The GTR series is highly regarded as one of the best racing simulators ever created. GTR2 was the last title in this series and it was released more than 12 years ago. It has finally been confirmed today that there’s going to be a GTR 3. Yes, you read that right, GTR 3 release has been confirmed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The newly formed Simbin UK studio is working with Sector3 on this game.
This is actually not the first time it has been confirmed that there’s going to be a GTR 3. The sequel was confirmed back in 2011 when the old Simbin studio confirmed plans for this game. However, it closed down and was later revived as Sector3 while Simbin UK came into being just last year and they’re now going to work together on this project.
It has been confirmed that GTR 3 is going to be built on Unreal Engine 4 and will feature variable time and weather. It’s going to share a lot of attributes with Sector3’s RaceRoom.
“It will be proper simulation but for the console version the casual user is just as important,” said Allan Speed, head of Simbin UK. The developer is looking to create a playable build of GTR 3 is about six months.
GTR 3 is not due for release until 2018 so fans of the franchise have a long wait ahead of them before they can get their hands on this title.
