Bethesda isn’t necessarily a name you might think of when it comes to mobile games, but the company’s launch of Fallout Shelter proved to be a rather surprising success. This is why it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that Bethesda has a new mobile game in the works, as revealed during an interview with Glixel.According to the interview, Bethesda Game Studios executive producer Todd Howard revealed that the company is working on a new mobile game. According to Howard, “The game we’re doing is a very different style game, unique in the space. There isn’t something else we’re looking at for style.”
Speaking about what they learnt from Fallout Shelter, Howard said, “It was a huge surprise to us. Particularly how successful it was. We’ve got – what – 75 million players now? The one takeaway was that the game is somewhat unique, so for the thing we’re doing next we wanted to continue to do that. We need to not look too hard at what’s working well for other people.”
Bethesda never shied away from the fact that they were interested in creating more mobile games. In fact the company even opened up a new studio that would further their mobile efforts, as long as it made sense.
