[CES 2017] 2-in-1 hybrid devices are pretty common offerings these days, but if you are a fan of Dell’s products or if you’re just after an alternative, the company has taken the wraps off their latest 2-in-1 in the form of the Dell Latitude 5825. Given that this is the Latitude series, it comes with features that seem to be aimed more towards business users.
This is due to its security features such as an optional smartcard reader, a fingerprint reader, along with optional software from Dell, such as the company’s Data Protection and Management software which includes the Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise, Threat Defense, Protected Workspace, Secure Lifecycle, MozyPro, and MozyEnterprise, just to name a few.
As for the hardware of the device, we’re looking at a 12.3-inch Full HD touchscreen display. Under the hood, we can find a 7th generation Intel Core i processor with Intel HD Graphics 620. Storage options range from a 256GB SATA SSD up to a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD, or a 512GB PCIe OPAL SED M.2280.
It will also run on Windows 10 as its operating system of choice. There will also be an optional external keyboard accessory for those who are interested. Unfortunately pricing and availability were not mentioned, but we’ll keep an eye out for it.
