If there is one criticism that many can agree on regarding Apple’s new MacBook Pro laptops, it would be that it is expensive. Sure, some users might be able to justify the price citing the performance of the laptop, but for regular users, forking out so much money for a laptop is a luxury that not many can afford.
However it seems that for a brief moment in time, Amazon made the new laptops very much accessible to customers by discounting it by a whopping $360. This deal was spotted by 9to5Toys (via 9to5Mac) who reports that the base 13-inch MacBook Pro without Touch ID and the Touch Bar was priced at $1,139.92, where its original price is listed at $1,499.
Other MacBook Pros like the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and 512GB of SSD was discounted by $200, down to $1,799 from $1,999. Unfortunately this was a mistake, according to the emails that Amazon has since sent out to buyers. However the good news is that it looks like Amazon will be honoring those sales, but for customers who purchased multiple units will have their orders reduced to 1.
We’re not sure how many laptops Amazon has sold following this mistake, but we’re pretty sure that Apple can’t be too thrilled by this. In the meantime if you want a cheaper MacBook Pro, we are hearing rumors that 2017’s models will be more affordable, although exactly by how much remains to be seen.
