With Samsung asking customers to turn in their Galaxy Note 7 handsets, this means that customers are going to need new phones. So the question is, have customers lost their confidence and trust in Samsung where they might go with another brand, or maybe even switch platforms to the iPhone?
While we can’t speak for the rest of the world, a report from DigiTimes has revealed that Samsung customers in Taiwan are remaining pretty loyal to the brand. The report claims that channel retailers are reporting that 90% of customers who are returning the Galaxy Note 7 are opting for the Galaxy S7 Edge instead of asking for a full refund.
This has apparently led to a depletion of their inventory and it means that customers who want the Galaxy S7 Edge will have no choice but to wait for new units to arrive. Customers in Taiwan have been given a choice between the Galaxy S7 Edge or the Note 5, but given that the S7 Edge is the newer of the two, we guess it isn’t surprising.
As for the price different, customers who opt for either device will be given a refund in the price gap, which is said to be around $125-$155 for the Galaxy S7 Edge, and $125-$220 for the Note 5.
