Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 will be playable across multiple platforms, such as Sony’s P4 (and the PS4 Pro), Microsoft’s Xbox One, and also for the PC. Now the upside with consoles is that the hardware is all chosen for you, meaning that developers need to create the game around the hardware, versus PC where you need to make sure your rig is capable of handling the game.
For PC gamers who are thinking of playing Resident Evil 7 on the PC, you’ll be pleased to learn that the system requirements have been revealed thanks to an update to its Steam page in which the specs are now available for all to see. Starting with the minimum requirements, it seems that Mac gaming is out of the question as it will require gamers to own Windows 7 or later.
In the processor department, we’re looking at an Intel Core i5-4460, 2.70GHz or AMD FX-6300 or better, 8GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260x for the GPU. As for the recommended system requirements, we’re looking at an Intel Core i7 3770 3.4GHz or better, 8GB of RAM, and for the GPU, either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon R9 280X or better.
No word on how much storage the game will take up just yet, but we’ll check back on that later. The game is scheduled for a release on the 24th of January, 2017, so if your current rig can’t match those specifications, then you’ve still got several months to make upgrades.
